Preservation Conversation: Storytelling in Preservation

08/16/2022 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM ET

Description

Being an effective historic preservationist also means being an effective storyteller. Knowing how to talk and write about preservation will help you grow awareness and achieve positive outcomes for your preservation project. But compelling storytelling is more than just choosing the right words. It means understanding the needs of the community and telling stories that matter. In many cases, this often means preservationists and advocates do more listening than talking.

Join Preservation Massachusetts and special guest speakers Meg Campbell and Lisa Ryan from Preservation Trust of Vermont and Kathy Kottaridis from Historic Boston Incorporated on Tuesday, August 16 from 12:00-1:00pm for a virtual discussion of the art and importance of storytelling and community engagement in historic preservation. This is a free, virtual event. Guest speakers will be followed with a Q&A with the audience.
